It then bolts in to the Mk3 chassis without any modifications There's a few sellers who have the shift box, though you still need an 02J shifter to get the guts. Calling the major transmission shops proved futile and VOA wouldn't say. BTW I found out you can get a Polo shift box (for the shifter itself) and swap all the 02J parts in to it. Is there anyone on the forum with "real world/practical" experience with these Transmission that can shed a little light on the subject? Searches this specific seem to shed little light on the subject, although I see evidence where others have hinted at needing the same information. There has to be a "Gotcha".ie linkage or drive axel flanges. From the top you need to have a flat dolly (4mm thick plate the same width as the gap across the notches) that will fit down into the notches and press against the sleeve, and just press it out. The Question(s): It seems a little too easy that the DQY and EBJ would be a direct swap without any modifications. You then need to have a pipe that will sit under the alloy holder of the bearing sleeve, with a bore big enough for the bearing to slide into. Honestly this was one of the easiest jobs ive ever had to do. 02A or especially 02J gearboxes can handle significantly higher power output.
